I do like to get up early in the morning and gently to rub my girlfriend’s nose while she is still sleeping. And every morning before I leave to job, I try to kiss her. Sometimes she wakes up (mostly because I am clumsy and noisy) and isn’t very happy which creates a perfect opportunity for me to say something sweet (hey, that’s why this blog is called Sweet Things To Say to Your Girlfriend, right?).

And, believe me, you should use all of them at least a dozen of times! However, sometimes, you just need to say something sweet, to show that you care, to notice that she is upset or happy – to do all of that with one sentence – it’s not an easy task!

Tell her, this new dress looks so good on you and enjoy her warming smile… Considering that the dress is really new (and you noticed it!). Otherwise, well… I wish you more luck next time.

People are too humble sometimes – they want something, but still pretend that they’re OK without it. Here’s one example of this undue modesty: A girl wants you to be with her, but tells you to go and do whatever you need to do – to go and live your life. She didn’t even bother asking you whether you want to go, maybe you want to stay with her.

Here’s a common situation: you’ve decided tomorrow morning to do something. So you get up early, but unfortunately, you’ve awaken your girlfriend who only needs to wake up after a little while, for example, one hour. She gets mad at you and asks why did you wake up so early? What do you need to do? Solution is to tell her that she shouldn’t be mad at you, because the earlier you wake up the more time you will spend thinking of her.

My friend gave me a great idea of this article – told me a story of his which I would love to share with all of you:

“She and I were together at my home till she received a call from her father. I’ve witnessed changes of her face expression – it became serious and I couldn’t help but notice that she was frightened. I knew something happened as I’ve overheard a part of the conversation. She ran home to see if everything’s fine with her father, but she wanted to go there alone. I called her after a couple of minutes, but there was no answer. I received a message afterwards with a text that she can’t talk right now because indeed something’s wrong. I couldn’t just sit on my bed and wait so I came by her flat and waited till she had time to meet me and tell me what’s going on.”

I found out that he’d waited for 3 hours. Would you do the same thing? If yes, your girlfriend might be really happy. If not, try behaving like that – show support and care, because that’s definitely sweet.

I bet everyone likes pleasant surprises and especially ones from people you love and I happened to know one great idea how to amaze your girlfriend or boyfriend on a special occasion or even on an ordinary day, that’s what I’ve done:

I had to think of something special for my girlfriend for this Valentine’s day and as the routine is a killer I thought it would be so great to forget all the troubles that sometimes makes us miserable. And then a great idea came to my mind: why not run away from them? I bought 2 train tickets to the place that neither I nor my girlfriend have been to. I put one of them in an envelope and gave it to her saying to open it after an hour and write me a message then.

I received her message and we met at the station. When she asked, how did I come up with this idea I told her that the best things happen accidentally (as we became a couple completely accidentally as well) and being with her every day feels like a new experience which I found very enjoyable that’s why we’re going to an unfamiliar place and that’s why I want to surprise her every day of my life.

The sun can’t shine all the time like the days can’t always be only good ones, rough days may occur as well. Sometimes your girlfriend may seem miserable and depressed, during the days like this, the most important assignment is to show that you truly care for her.

Recently, I had this kind of situation on my own: I couldn’t help but notice that my girlfriend was having a bad day, even though, she denied of having so. I’ve tried to find out what had happened, kept asking her questions till she admitted something was wrong, but she found it unnecessary to tell, because she didn’t want to bother me. You woke up in the morning, and thinking about your lovely girlfriend, went to the local flower shop and asked for 11 roses… Only once you have reached home, you realized that line with “until the last rose dies” will not work that well (you haven’t picked up the fake rose, stupid!).

But don’t worry… we can always come up with another line, can’t we?

This line will make more sense, if you will try to give the flowers to your girlfriend somewhere near the mirror. While pointing to the mirror, just say casually: If you held up these roses into a mirror, you’d be looking at 12 of the most beautiful things in the world.

Instead of saying simple things in the simple way (which in most cases works just fine, but…), you could be more creative… Next time you will meet your girlfriend, instead of saying that you miss her, say: Last night I looked up into the stars and matched each one with a reason why I love you. I was doing great untill I ran out of stars…

However, from my own perspective, if you really do love your girlfriend as I do love my lady, the best thing you could say her is “you are the love of my life“.

The toughest (for you guys, who are just trying to sound right) and the easiest (for us guys, who are really blessed with special lady who we really do love) thing will be to sound like we really mean it.

Or… on other hand, she should at least appreciate your efforts. However, sometimes you do not need to think of what to say – just try observing her. As I am on holiday, my lunch break is basically all my day – just working on my internet projects and thinking (or at least, telling my girlfriend that I am) about my girlfriend. And guess what will she ask? Of course, she will ask what are you thinking about, and all your efforts to come up with something unique will be wasted.

Yesterday late evening my girlfriend and I were going home on a bus. As it was quite late, we were tired and had to try hard not to fall asleep. She laid her head on my should and I started to stroke her hair gently.

When was the last time you had a picnic with your girlfriend? I do not know why, however when we go for picnic (which happens way too seldom), or whenever we go somewhere to the fields or parks, at the time when we hit the ground and have a seat my head is instantly located on her knees.

I just love watching clouds and the comfort of my girlfriend’s knees. In this situation it is a perfect time to say something sweet: your love is the clouds that cover my world. For your own sake, I do hope, that there is a least one cloud in the sky when you say this.

I get really annoyed if I am busy, and someone sends me sms message. However, yesterday I was thinking about my girlfriend’s messages. Yes, I am busy with all these things around me. My girlfriend loves to let someone (i.e. old granny) sit in her place while she is standing. On the other side, I hate that – especially if I am already sitting down.

However, last day on the tube I found a win-win solution for that. My girlfriend stood up and old funny man sat in her place, therefore I suggested to my girlfriend to sit on my lap. I was her hero of the day, and even other guys on the train were envying me.
